1. Legal basis for each purpose
This policy explains how Elvanto (Pty) Ltd (Elvanto), at elvanto.digital, uses cookies. Each purpose below is tied to a lawful ground under section 11 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

2. Scope
This policy covers cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage and pixels, on elvanto.digital. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
3. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They let a site recognise your device and remember settings.
4. Our services
Elvanto provides reputation monitoring and management services focused on how businesses and individuals appear in AI-generated answers and in the media. The site offers two ways to give us personal data: a contact form and an email subscription.
5. Necessary cookies
These are essential. They cannot be switched off in our tools, though you may block them in your browser, which may stop parts of the site working.
- Consent cookie: stores your cookie choices.
- Session and security cookies: protect the contact form and subscription form against abuse and forged submissions.
- Load and routing cookies: keep the site available and stable.
6. Analytics cookies
These are set only after you consent. They show which pages are read, how visitors arrive and where they leave. We use the results to improve content and navigation. Reports are aggregated and we do not use them to identify you.
7. Marketing cookies
These are set only after you consent. They record whether a visit came from our email newsletter or another campaign, and may limit repeat messages. We do not sell personal information.
8. Contact form
When you submit the contact form, we process your name, email address, any phone number and your message to respond to your enquiry. Only necessary cookies are involved in sending it. Cookies do not add to the data you type in.
9. Email subscription
When you subscribe, we process your email address and your subscription preferences to send you our updates. Subscribing is a separate act of consent. Refusing marketing cookies does not affect your subscription. Every email contains an unsubscribe link.
10. Third parties
Analytics and marketing cookies may be set by our service providers. They may process data outside South Africa. Where they do, we require protection that meets section 72 of POPIA.
11. Duration
- Session cookies: deleted when you close your browser.
- Consent cookie: up to 12 months.
- Analytics cookies: up to 24 months.
- Marketing cookies: up to 12 months.
12. Managing your choices
You can accept or refuse analytics and marketing cookies in the consent banner when you first visit. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookies for elvanto.digital in your browser, which shows the banner again.
13. Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Settings differ by browser; see its help pages.
14. Withdrawing consent
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing done before it.
15. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information, and may object to processing. Write to us at [email protected].

You may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforeg.org.za. We invite you to contact us first.
17. Changes
We may update this policy. The current version applies from the date it is posted. Where a change needs fresh consent, we will ask for it.
